1. Who we are
This notice explains how TDS Removals proposes to handle personal information when you enquire about, book or use our removal, packing and storage services, or visit tdsremovals.co.uk. TDS Removals Limited is the data controller responsible for the customer information it collects for these purposes. Our contact address is Unit 1, Liberty Centre, Wembley, HA0 1TX, United Kingdom.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@tdsremovals.co.uk or call 0203 086 8246.
2. Information we collect
You may provide your name, email, telephone number, collection and delivery addresses or postcodes, preferred moving date, property and access details, the service or package you need, and information about the belongings to be moved. We also receive information in messages, quote requests, booking forms and survey appointments.
If you choose a WhatsApp video survey or send photographs, the material may show your belongings and parts of your home. Please avoid including identity documents, financial papers or other unnecessary personal details. WhatsApp video surveys are not recorded.
For a referral discount, we may receive the referring customer’s name and move reference from you to check eligibility. Please tell that person before sharing their details. We may also receive necessary contact or access information about someone helping with your move.
Website and embedded-service providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser, device and access times. The precise logs, cookies and tracking tools in use are currently being reviewed.
We record telephone calls for staff training. We plan to configure automatic deletion of call recordings after a maximum of 60 days. This setting has not yet been activated and verified in RingCentral.
3. Why we use information
- Enquiries, estimates, surveys and bookings: to respond to your request and arrange or carry out the service. The proposed basis is taking requested steps before a contract or performing that contract.
- Service administration: to communicate about your move, check referral eligibility and resolve issues. Where contract is not applicable, the proposed basis is our legitimate interest in running the service fairly and effectively, subject to assessing your rights.
- Records and obligations: to meet applicable accounting, tax or other legal requirements, relying on the relevant legal obligation.
- Security and disputes: to protect the website, prevent misuse and establish or defend claims, where necessary for our legitimate interests.
- Optional marketing or non-essential tracking: any such use requires a separate assessment and appropriate choice or consent where required. Submitting an enquiry is not, by itself, consent to unrelated marketing.
Some information is needed to quote accurately or arrange your service. If it is not provided, we may need to ask for it before proceeding.
4. Who may receive information
Access should be limited to the team members and service providers who need information for the relevant task. Depending on the service, these may include moving or storage personnel, website and email providers, form and booking service providers, professional advisers, insurers and authorities where disclosure is legally required. The actual suppliers and sharing arrangements are under review.
5. YouTube, WhatsApp and other external services
The Gallery includes YouTube videos. Loading or playing embedded content can allow the provider to receive technical information and use its own storage or tracking technologies. Contacting us through WhatsApp also involves that provider. External review and social-media links take you to services with their own privacy notices.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and WhatsApp’s Privacy Policy. The site’s cookie inventory and consent controls are under review; this notice does not claim that non-essential technologies are currently blocked before consent.
6. Keeping information and overseas processing
Retention should reflect the purpose of each record: following up an enquiry, providing an agreed service, handling complaints or claims and satisfying applicable record-keeping requirements. Final periods for enquiries, bookings, invoices, survey material and website logs must be confirmed. Information should be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.
Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. The providers, locations and applicable transfer safeguards are under review and this notice will be updated when confirmed.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal information. Where consent is used, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to use of your information for direct marketing.
Contact us using the details above. We may need information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. Rights may be subject to legal limits.
8. Questions and complaints
Please contact us first so we can consider your concern. You may also raise a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
9. Updates
We will review this notice when our services or handling of personal information change. The date above will identify the version.
